Superparks--an S2O invention!

S2O has been an industry innovator since our outset. Our first park led the world in new technology, innovation, layout, and planning. This park, the USNWC was the original superpark. Until the USNWC was built, every pumped whitewater park in the world was a purpose built Olympic Slalom Course. The USNWC was tasked with "creating healthy, active, outdoor lifestyles." Charlotte is a lifestyle center. It features not only a superior whitewater slalom channel--which will host the 2008 Olympic Trials--it also hosts the country's largest climbing wall, an adventure ropes course, 27 miles of mountain biking, an instructional area, a flatwater boathouse on the Catawba River, hiking, trail running, a conference center, mountain bike rentals, a freestyle kayaking course, an intermediate course, adjustable wave features, and so much more! This park is about living the outdoor lifestyle within minutes of downtown Charlotte. The proof, in this case, is in the people, Charlotte is now home to more than half of the U.S. national whitewater team as well as scores of top climbers, mountain bikers and other outdoor enthusiasts! This park has brought Charlotte into the outdoors!

Our latest whitewater parks have expanded on this idea. Super-parks of the future will include retail and shopping, artificial surfing reefs, resort/hotels, waterparks, and many other amenities. Charlotte will always be something special, but it is just the beginning of what is to come!
