Inductee in 2006 in the champion category for results including 3 world cup titles, 10 national championships, a junior world championship, 3 world championship silver medals, 8 over-all world cup medals, as well as boat designs that helped change the sport, for writing Every Crushing Stroke: The Guide to Performance Boating and for the design of the U.S. National Whitewater Center, that has also radically changed the sport of slalom in the United States.ww.us

EVEREST AWARD

The Everest Awards are considered the Oscars of the Outdoors recognizing the top athletes of the year.  Winning "An Everest" is one of the greatest achievements in all of climate sports.  Nominations were submitted by the public on line and selected by an editorial committee.

JACK KELLY FAIR PLAY AWARD

Awarded the USOC Jack Kelly Fair Play award in 1996 for Outstanding Sportsmanship.He donated the boat he paddled to an Olympic berth to a Bosnian paddler who damaged his kayak and otherwise would not have been able to compete in the Olympics.
